AOF Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup Event--California Coastal Cleanup Day! Saturday, September 20, 8-10AM

Description:

This year, AOF will be participating in the annual California Coastal Cleanup Day (CCCD), Saturday, September 20, an event where groups statewide cleanup designated coastal areas and highways to prevent litter from finding its way into California tributaries and ultimately, into our already heavily-polluted oceans. So, we will gather at our regular spot, the Park & Ride lot west of Highway 99 on September 20 @8a.m. from which we will embark to apprehend, arrest and capture any litter lying along 99. A typical crew of 7 can collect more than 100 pounds of refuse but we wish to do a more thorough job for CCCD so please join us if you can.
Questions can be directed to (916) 447-2169.

Standard description:

AOF hits the highway once again to rid the area of the accumulation. Come help us with our Adopt-A-Highway Program. We meet at the Park and Ride lot on Elkhorn Boulevard at Highway 99, where all necessary materials (provided by Caltrans) are distributed. Then we forge ahead (well, meander, actually) down our 2-mile stretch of 99 to do our part for the community.
