Free. Thought. This is it, the Twelfth Annual Sacramento Freethought Day Festival. Once again AOF joins hands with sister groups in the local freethought community, to bring a fabulous flight of free minds.

What is Sacramento Freethought Day? It is a jubilee, a party, a gala, a salute to independent minds and rational thought, open to the public, free, and brought here annually by the Sacramento Coaltion of Reason (SCoR), of which AOF is a part. The main event this year hapily coincides with the traditonal date of this freethinkers' celebration, October 12. Please click there to read its history.

As ever, the Freethought Day Festival combines the fun and festivity of a fair with the education and activism of a conference. It will feature speakers, entertainment, food, prizes, family fun, vendors, exhibits, panels, ... and more.

The fun begins Friday evening with a wine-&-cheese fundraiser reception. (Please visit this link for details and to sign up -- we truly appreciate your generosity, because this is how we pay for the event!)

On Saturday the festival kicks off in ernest, at about 10 a.m. Speakers will include Annie Laurie Gaylor (of FFRF), Jason Frye, Shelley Segal, poet Victor Harris, Jason Testerman, Edwina Rogers, David Fitzgerald, Greta Christina, comedian Keith Jensen, Heina Dadabhoy, and more. The vivacious Andrea Warren, Social IQ Lady, will return as Mistress of Ceremonies and Toastperson. Jumpin' music, display tables, a Freethinkers Gallery, an Author Panel, and ongoing family-friendly activities will entertain you and educate you. And of course, food: delicious pre-purchased box lunches will be available.

As ever, the main event (Saturday) is free, though we do accept donations -- those pesky expenses! We also ask you to register at this link, to be eligable for special door prizes. Registration is also free. And no one will call, we promise.

For up-to-the-minute details: Visit the event website, or visit the Facebook Page, or read and join the Freethought Day Blog.

Would you like to speak at this event? Wish to host a table? Can volunteer, sponsor or help promote? Please visit the event website.  We accept your generosity with amazing good cheer. And hands that help ... are beautiful hands.
